Okozukai is the brainchild of Tejas Deshpande, a Montreal, Canada-based Software Engineer working at Google. Originally intended as a money-management solution for himself developed in his downtime, Tejas hopes to eventually build it out as a full-fledged mobile app on the App Store. Having developed a working proof-of-concept, I was brought in as a freelance product designer to conduct a heuristic evaluation and recommend improvements.
The issues were identified based on Jakob Nielson's principles, presented to the client and then collaboratively prioritised as low, moderate and critical.

Before
After
I have to level up
Until Okozukai, I had only ever worked as a hardcore UX designer. It was this project that encouraged me to work more on my UI and visual design and begin my journey towards becoming a product designer.
